Roger Carey was a Senior Executive at MEPC plc before joining Slough Estates in 1983, where he subsequently became Group Managing Director in 1992.
Roger moved to Saville Gordon Estates plc as Chief Executive in 1997, oversaw the growth of its investment portfolio of multi-tenanted industrial estates and led the buy-out of the company in 2002 in conjunction with the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund. Thereafter the company was renamed Industrious Ltd and he became Chairman. In 2004/5 he led the sale of most of Industrious’s assets to Brixton plc for £675m and was subsequently involved in the company’s residual activities until he stepped down in 2006.
Roger is currently a non-executive director of the Ellis Campbell Group and was previously a non-executive director of TR Properties plc, Mapeley Ltd, Safestore Holdings plc and other companies. He is a Past President of the British Property Federation.
When he isn’t exploring remote parts of the world on classic car rallies, Roger is also Chairman of the Aston Martin Heritage Trust, a charitable organisation dedicated to preserving and enhancing the history of Aston Martin. This provides him with plentiful opportunities to voice his opinions and experience of Aston Martin outside of the home, much to the pleasure of his wife, Margaret.
